Position Summary

We invite an accomplished leader to join our visionary team as Vice President - Bioinformatics, R&D and Services. In this strategic role, you will spearhead scientific innovation, manage high-impact client services and build collaborative alliances to propel The Avestagenome Project's mission: delivering next-generation solutions in digital biomarkers, genomics and precision medicine.

Key Responsibilities

Bioinformatics Research & Development:

• Lead research programs in genomics, digital biomarkers and predictive drug discovery within The Avestagenome Project

- Design and optimize robust bioinformatics pipelines and algorithms for integrated multiomics data analysis.
- Advance AI/ML-powered diagnostic and therapeutic platforms.
- Drive publication of impactful research and actively participate in grant proposals and multi-institutional collaborations.

Services & Business Growth:

• Oversee delivery of high-value bioinformatics services, ensuring exceptional client outcomes and data integrity.
• Expand partnerships and client engagement to capture opportunities in India and international markets (Europe, US, and beyond).
• Execute client-focused projects, meeting ambitious timelines and outcomes.
• Identify and drive new avenues for digital biomarker drug discovery, maximizing the strategic advantage of the Project's proprietary data.

Leadership & Collaboration:

• Foster multidisciplinary collaboration to convert large-scale genomics data into actionable insights.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing bioinformatics team unified by innovation and scientific excellence.
• Champion integration of bioinformatics solutions across all platforms at The Avestagenome Project
  

to realize organisational goals.

Candidate Profile

Education:

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or allied domains, preferably with credentials from an IIT or top-tier research institution.
• MBA or equivalent management qualification (IIM or reputed global institute) is a strong advantage.

Experience:

• 10+ years in bioinformatics R&D, with at least 5 years of leadership experience, ideally in proprietary or large-scale genomics initiatives.
• Expertise:
• Skilled in multiomics analytics, genome annotation, and digital biomarker discovery.
• Direct experience developing novel pipelines—including NGS—and implementing AI/ML solutions for integrative data.
• Proven record of collaborative innovation, scientific publication, and successful grant applications.
