Simply Nam is a premium beauty brand designed for the modern Indian woman, founded by celebrity makeup artist Namrata Soni and Hanna Stromgren Khan in 2020, bringing together their unique strengths and experiences to create something exceptional. With over 20 years of experience under her belt, Namrata has used her extensive insights to create a brand that offers practical and affordable beauty solutions without compromising on quality. Hanna, a trailblazer in entrepreneurship, founded the Bozzil Group and has redefined the Direct-to-Consumer space by co-creating premium brands with influencers, leveraging their trust and loyal audiences. At Simply Nam, we conduct rigorous research on the unique needs of the Indian woman when it comes to beauty. Every formulation is vegan, cruelty-free, and created specifically for the Indian lifestyle and climate, keeping in mind the wonderful, diverse range of skin tones our country has to offer.
About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and versatile Head of Brand & Marketing with a strong background in e-commerce, beauty, and product development to drive cross-functional brand initiatives at Simply Nam. As a key leader, you will design and implement impactful marketing strategies, strengthen our brand identity, and oversee product development and sourcing to bring innovative beauty solutions to life. Ideal candidates will have a strong track record of team leadership, excellent references, and a sharp analytical approach to driving growth and sales. While D2C experience is essential, we value diverse e-commerce expertise and welcome professionals from varied business backgrounds who can bring fresh perspectives to the table.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand & Marketing Strategy:
● Develop and execute an integrated brand strategy that resonates with Simply Nam's mission, driving profitable growth and scaling across India.
● Establish a compelling, customer-first brand identity across all touchpoints, from digital to offline, ensuring consistency and strong recall.
● Spearhead multichannel marketing efforts, with a focus on D2C, E-commerce platforms, social media, influencer collaborations, and offline activations tailored to Indian audiences.
Growth & Performance Marketing:
● Own growth metrics such as ROAS, CAC, retention, and LTV, ensuring marketing campaigns are data-driven and impactful.
● Strategically optimise website performance, ad creatives, and customer funnels for improved conversion rates and revenue growth.
● Drive acquisition and retention strategies that balance growth with efficient use of budgets. Organic Growth & Community Building:
● Expand Simply Nam's organic reach and engagement through storytelling, content creation, and community-building initiatives across social platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and emerging trends in India.
● Build strong owned marketing channels, particularly email and WhatsApp, reducing dependency on paid platforms.
● Implement an SEO strategy tailored to Indian consumer search behaviours to enhance visibility and drive traffic.
Product Development & Sourcing:
● Oversee and drive product development from ideation to launch, ensuring beauty innovations align with Simply Nam's brand values and meet market needs.
● Identify and secure high-quality suppliers while managing costs, timelines, and ethical standards.
● Stay ahead of beauty trends in India and globally, identifying new opportunities for product differentiation and innovation.
Influencer & Advocacy Marketing:
● Build and manage ROI-driven partnerships with influencers and advocates, focusing on authenticity and trust in the Indian beauty space.
● Leverage UGC to fuel Simply Nam's credibility, relatability, and community-driven storytelling.
Customer Loyalty & Retention:
● Design and implement loyalty programs, referral incentives, and personalised post-purchase journeys to deepen customer relationships.
● Drive initiatives to build a base of returning customers through lifecycle marketing and targeted communication.
Earned Media & Brand Reputation:
● Lead PR efforts to position Simply Nam as a leader in the beauty industry, leveraging media coverage, collaborations, and events.
● Strategise to amplify brand visibility organically through thought leadership and community engagement.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
● Align brand and marketing strategies with product, operations, and sourcing teams, ensuring seamless execution of cross-department initiatives.
● Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
● Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous learning across the organisation.
Qualifications & Skills
● 8–10 years of experience in brand and marketing leadership, with a proven track record of success in beauty brands within India
● Deep expertise in brand building, content strategy, and performance marketing, with a focus on the Indian market and consumer behaviour.
● Strong knowledge of product development and sourcing processes, with a passion for bringing innovative beauty products to life.
● Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to represent the brand across stakeholders.
● Entrepreneurial mindset, with experience scaling brands and driving initiatives in a fast-paced startup environment.
● A visionary leader with a hands-on approach, capable of inspiring teams and driving results through collaboration and innovation.
