The Opportunity

We're hiring a Tax Sr. Associate / Manager with strong experience in U.S. tax compliance across multiple entity types. You'll manage the full tax cycle — from preparation and review to client delivery — while working closely with an offshore team of preparers. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, client interaction, and process leadership in a tech-driven environment.

What You'll Do

  • Tax Filings & Review: Manage and review U.S. federal and state tax returns, including:
  • Individuals (Form 1040)
  • C-Corporations (Form 1120-C)
  • S-Corporations (Form 1120-S)
  • Partnerships (Form 1065)
  • Information Returns (Form 1099 series)
  • Sales, Excise, and Franchise Taxes
  • Entity Lifecycle Management: Support clients with incorporations, dissolutions, and annual franchise filings.
  • Offshore Team Leadership: Collaborate with and review work from offshore preparers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for U.S. clients — providing filing updates, resolving issues, and explaining outcomes.
  • Tax Research & Advisory: Stay up-to-date with IRS and state developments and advise clients accordingly.
  • AI & Automation: Leverage Otterz's AI tools to streamline tax workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance efficiency.
  • Process Ownership: Identify and implement best practices to scale tax operations.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–7 years of hands-on experience in U.S. tax preparation and review, ideally within CPA firms or BPOs.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state filings for individuals, partnerships, C-corps, and S-corps.
  • Experience with tax software such as Drake, ProConnect, or Lacerte.
  • Exposure to multiple industries (e.g., tech, services, e-commerce, healthcare, real estate).
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and IRS compliance standards.
  • Excellent English communication and client management skills.
  • Leadership experience overseeing a tax prep team is a plus.
  • CPA, EA, or pursuing certification preferred but not required.
