Production Planning Coordinator

Role & responsibilities

  1. Plan, schedule, and monitor daily/weekly/monthly production activities to meet delivery timelines.
  2. Coordinate with procurement, stores, and production teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
  3. Track work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory to maintain optimal stock levels.
  4. Communicate production plans, changes, and priorities to relevant departments.
  5. Adjust schedules proactively to handle machine breakdowns, material shortages, or urgent orders.
  6. Monitor production output against set targets and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  7. Prepare and share daily/weekly/monthly production performance reports with management.
  8. Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and cost optimization.
  9. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company SOPs in all planning activities.
  10. Collaborate with logistics and dispatch teams for smooth order fulfillment.

Preferred candidate profile

  1. Bachelors degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  2. Additional certification in Production Planning, Lean Manufacturing, or ERP systems will be an added advantage.
  3. 2–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or coordination within manufacturing or FMCG industries.
  4. Hands-on experience with ERP.
  5. Strong knowledge of production scheduling, inventory management, and material requirement planning (MRP).
  6. Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis tools for preparing production reports.
  7. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  8. Excellent communication and coordination abilities for cross-functional teamwork.
  9. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under tight deadlines.
  10. High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  11. Adaptability to handle changing priorities and urgent demands.
  12. Familiarity with quality control processes and safety regulations.
  13. Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven manufacturing environment.
  14. Willingness to work extended hours or shifts during peak production periods.
