We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented
Children's Book Designer/Illustrator
to join our innovative team focused on personalised children's content. This unique role sits at the intersection of design, publishing, and cutting-edge technology, requiring a passion for visual storytelling and a strong grasp of print production mechanics.

You will be responsible for bringing AI-generated narratives to life, ensuring every personalised storybook, colouring book, and activity page is visually appealing, age-appropriate (5–9), and perfectly prepared for Print-on-Demand (POD) platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Book Design & Layout:
    Design professional, engaging, and child-friendly page layouts, templates, and typography for customised storybooks.
  • Illustration & Creative Production:
    Create original illustrations, colouring pages, puzzles, and clear line art that support and enhance the story content.
  • AI Content Integration:
    Work closely with the AI/Automation team to seamlessly integrate AI-generated text and content into polished, print-ready PDF book layouts.
  • Print Production & Quality:
    Ensure all design files (layouts, bleeds, margins, colour profiles) are accurately prepared and meet the strict technical specifications for Print-on-Demand (POD) platforms (e.g., Printrove, Vistaprint).
  • Brand Consistency:
    Maintain and govern strict brand guidelines (colours, logo placement, character consistency) across all products and formats.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Partner with the marketing team to develop high-impact digital assets and promotional materials for new book launches.
  • Project Support (Optional):
    Assist in the design and production of custom, branded books for institutional clients (schools, OEMs).

Experience & Education

  • 0–3 years of professional experience in children's book illustration, educational content design, or commercial graphic design.
  • A strong, current
    portfolio
    demonstrating illustration, layout, and print-ready design work, ideally within the children's market.
  • [Optional, but a plus:]
    Experience with Motion Graphics or creating interactive PDF content.

Design & Technical Expertise

Illustration Skills:
Strong aptitude for drawing and visual concept creation (digital or traditional).

Software Mastery:
High proficiency in: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Figma/Canva.

Book Production:
Familiarity with book design principles, font hierarchy, and print specifications (bleeds, trim, color modes).

Creativity & Workflow

Visual Storytelling:
Ability to translate narrative concepts into engaging and age-appropriate visual sequences.

Attention to Detail:
Meticulous precision for print-ready file preparation (POD accuracy is critical)

AI & Automation:
Basic understanding of how to work with and format content derived from AI models.
