Role Overview

A Commercial & SCM manager oversees the entire process of getting goods or services from origin to the end customer, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This involves managing everything from sourcing and procurement to production, logistics, distribution & Custom Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial :

Import / Export Laisoning :

Laisoning to import/export activities like inland ports, CHA, transporters, banks, purchase , Customs and plant team.

Handling all import-export shipments & various INCOTERMS like FOB, CIF, DDP, DDU, Demurrage/Detention etc.

Custom Management

• Compliance & Regulations: Ensuring adherence to all relevant customs laws, regulations, and procedures for import and export operations.

• Documentation Management: Preparing, reviewing, and managing all necessary customs documentation, including declarations, licenses, and permits.

• Import/Export Process Management: Overseeing the entire import and export process, from start to finish, coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders.

• Communication & Collaboration: Liaising with customs officials, regulatory bodies, and internal teams (e.g., finance, supply chain, legal) to ensure smooth operations and address any issues.

• Staying up-to-date on changes in customs regulations and advising the company on potential impacts.

Supply Chain Function

• Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing supply chain strategies to optimize performance and reduce costs.

• Sourcing and Procurement: Managing relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

• Production Planning: Coordinating production schedules,

• inventory management, and resource allocation to meet demand.

• Logistics and Distribution: Overseeing the movement of goods from production to customers, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.

• Process Improvement: Identifying bottlenecks, streamlining processes, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Inventory Management: Maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing storage costs and waste.

• Risk Management: Identifying potential risks in the supply chain and developing mitigation strategies

• Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on supply chain performance.

• Team Leadership: Managing and mentoring a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

• Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure alignment and coordination.

Qualification & experience

MA / M. Com / MBA / Degree in SCM with 12+ Years of Experience

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in supply chain management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain Principles: Understanding of logistics, inventory management, and procurement.
• Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for accuracy in customs documentation and compliance.
