Role Purpose :

We are looking for a talented and experienced AWS Data Architect to drive our data architecture strategy within the LPL (Line/Product?) organisation. The role will focus on designing robust data solutions using AWS services (Glue, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.), setting up data lakes, pipelines, governance and enabling data-driven decision making. You will work closely with data engineering, analytics, product and operations teams to ensure our data foundation is scalable, performant and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect end-to-end data solutions on AWS including data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, streaming, batch processing and analytics frameworks.

- Design and implement data models, schema definitions and data integration patterns to support business intelligence, reporting and product usage insights.

- Define best practices for AWS data services e.g., Glue, S3, Lambda, RDS ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, cost-effective and maintainable.

- Work with the cloud/solutioning team to select proper services, design data partitioning, optimise data storage, and manage data lifecycle.

- Collaborate with cross?functional partners (data engineering, analytics, product, security) to align data architecture with business strategy and regulatory requirements.

- Lead technical reviews and governance of data architecture: highlight technical debt, propose remediation, enforce standards and document architecture artefacts.

- Guide the creation of data infrastructure as code, monitor performance, build cost optimisation strategies and ensure high availability and disaster recovery for data systems.

- Mentor and influence data engineering teams on architecture best practices, streaming vs batch trade-offs, data security, governance and observability.

- Evaluate new AWS data features and services, pilot proof-of-concepts and recommend adoption to maintain our data platforms competitiveness.

Required Skills & Experience :

to 15 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering or similar roles within enterprise environments.

- Proven expertise in AWS data services such as Glue, S3, Lambda, RDS, Redshift, Athena, Lake Formation, etc.

- Strong experience in designing large scale data architectures: data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming solutions (Kafka, Kinesis) and real-time data processing.

- Solid understanding of data modelling (relational and non-relational), schema design, partitioning, indexing, performance tuning and data governance.

- Experience with cloud solutioning and collaborating on cloud architecture decisions in AWS.

- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and data platform automation.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills able to translate business requirements into technical design and architecture.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to lead complex projects and influence across teams.

- Preferred: Data architect certification or AWS certifications; prior experience working in regulated industries or handling large volumes of data.
