Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Developer EDP Data Platform (EDP) to join our Decision Analytics team for a major Insurance client.

The candidate will be responsible for architecting, designing, and building enterprise-scale EDP application platforms to support client data teams in onboarding and provisioning data in a Data Cloud environment. The platform will leverage Microservices Architecture to support data marts, data warehouses, and AI/ML workloads.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Python, AWS cloud technologies, and data platforms, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise-level EDP applications supporting data ingestion, provisioning, and analytics workloads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to architect and deploy microservices-based solutions for Data Cloud environments.
• Implement and optimize cloud-native data solutions using AWS technologies such as S3, Glue, EMR/Spark, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, and CloudFormation.
• Develop Python-based applications with an understanding of object-oriented design, multi-tier architecture, and multi-threaded programming.
• Work on metadata management solutions leveraging AWS non-relational databases (e.g., DynamoDB, ElastiCache).
• Ensure adherence to Agile development principles and participate in continuous improvement and innovation sessions.
• Contribute to performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automation of workflows.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure cloud data solutions.

Required Skillsets

Core Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and deliver client-ready outputs with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills for client and internal team interactions.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience in Python application development (object-oriented, multi-threaded).
• Familiarity with Java/Scala (nice to have).

• Deep knowledge of AWS technologies, including:

• AppSync, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, CloudFormation, S3, Glue, EMR/Spark, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, KMS, and Secrets Manager.

• Exposure to modern cloud data warehouses: AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse.

• Experience with Spark and metadata management using AWS non-relational databases.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and CI/CD workflows.
• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect or Big Data Specialty) preferred.

Candidate Profile

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or related technical fields.
• Experience: Minimum 4+ years in enterprise application development (preferably in Life Insurance, though not mandatory).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience in team collaboration and client engagement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and cross-cultural environment.
