The CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector supports engineering and manufacturing teams by performing precision inspections and measurements using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), ensuring product quality and compliance with technical specifications. This role involves hands-on programming, inspection, and documentation, contributing to continuous improvement in quality processes and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute CMM programs using ZEISS Calypso software for dimensional inspection.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T, to perform accurate inspections.
  • Conduct first principle measurements and surface finish/profile inspections.
  • Perform statistical process capability studies and apply quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, PPAP).
  • Assist in product and component testing using a variety of measurement equipment.
  • Record and analyze inspection results, prepare technical reports, and support root cause analysis.
  • Maintain and calibrate measurement and test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Support measurement uncertainty studies and contribute to laboratory management practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers regarding inspection results and product specifications.

External Qualifications and Competencies

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical education.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in CMM programming and inspection.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (as per regulatory requirements).
