Quality Technician

**DESCRIPTION**

Assists Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs; assists in monitoring materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; maintains and supports documentation and records. Works under moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for incoming inspection of child parts as per IS2500 standard.
- Oracle transaction for incoming part acceptance and rejection as per measurement report.
- On-time communication of child part issues with supplier and Supplier Quality team.
- Ensure step 3 and step 6 actions are in place in the event of supplier child part issues.
- Updating receiving inspection documentation as per IATF 16949 requirements and monitoring.
- Prepare monthly MIS and monitor monthly data.
- Effective change management communication for all incoming child parts.
- Performing on-time disposition of non-conforming parts.
- Management of the calibration process of the plant and ensuring on-time calibration as per plan.
- PR/PO initiation through Ariba for gauges calibration and procurement.
- Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
- Conducts simple tests (e.g., on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality).
- Records results and prepares simple technical reports.
- Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment.
- Participates in measurement uncertainty studies for measurements associated with measurement or calibration results.
- Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the measurement and test equipment.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Skills**:

- Sound knowledge of GD&T and advanced measurement techniques in Metrology like Faro arm.
- Sound knowledge of programming in Polywork software.
- Sound knowledge of calibration and MSA process.
- Knowledge of Quality Planning initiatives viz. SPC, R&R, APQP, PPAP, FMEA.
- Data mining skills like Power BI will be preferred.
- Presentation skills.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Basic awareness about welding processes and ability to read welding symbols.
- Well-versed with IATF 16949 implementation and monitoring.
- Experience in using SPC software like Minitab, Gauge Tracker, etc.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in receiving/incoming inspection.
- Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.
