The Manager will be responsible for establishing and developing vendor networks for R&D and product development requirements, including prototyping, mechanical and electronic fabrication, and pilot-scale activities. The role bridges the R&D and procurement functions ensuring that early-stage development partners can scale up to production vendors when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely completion and expedition of R&D Sourcing activities.
  • Identify and develop vendors for R&D activities such as:
  • Mechanical fabrication (sheet metal, wire cutting, machining, etc.)
  • Electronics assembly, prototyping, PCB manufacturing
  • 3D printing, design validation, and rapid prototyping
  • Evaluate and onboard suppliers capable of scaling from prototype to production.
  • Handle purchase of R&D-specific tools, software licenses, and engineering services.
  • Negotiate costs, timelines, and quality standards with vendors.
  • Maintain documentation and approvals in coordination with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate project requirements

into purchase specifications.

  • Coordination with internal strategic teams to leverage existing vendors

Preferred Profile:

  • Experience in an Engineering & Development (E&D) or product development setup.
  • Strong vendor development and sourcing background.
  • Familiarity with R&D workflows and prototype-to-production transitions.
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent negotiation and project coordination skills.
