Key Responsibilities-
Project Management-
Oversee all operational aspects of manufacturing projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Monitor project progress and make adjustments to ensure timely completion.
Production Planning & Control-
Develop detailed production plans and schedules based on project specifications.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate project timelines, resource constraints, and unforeseen delays.
Ensure that all manufacturing activities are executed efficiently and meet the project goals.
Team Leadership & Management-
Lead, supervise, and mentor cross-functional teams including production staff, project engineers, quality control personnel, and supply chain teams.
- Assign roles and responsibilities to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and manage employee development programs.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management-
Oversee procurement and materials management, ensuring timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Collaborate with suppliers to meet project demands while maintaining cost controls and quality.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance cost and availability.
Resource Allocation:
Manage allocation of personnel, equipment, and materials to meet project requirements.
Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of resources.
Process Optimization:
Analyze current operational processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure all products meet quality standards and client specifications.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement quality control processes.
Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
Budget Management:
Prepare and manage operational budgets.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Provide regular financial reports to senior management.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety audits.
Address any safety incidents promptly and effectively.
Stakeholder Communication:
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on operational performance.
Handle client inquiries and resolve any operational issues.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure all operations comply.
Manage audits and certifications as required by regulatory bodies.
Technology Integration:
Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure staff are trained on any new systems or equipment.
Preferred candidate profile
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in operations management within the manufacturing industry.
Proven experience in project-based manufacturing environments.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project) and ERP systems.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
