Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As the Deputy Manager within the Supply Chain Planning & Control division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will be entrusted with the crucial responsibility of overseeing and managing commodity purchases to support the Farm Division's supply chain operations. Your role will involve active participation in the research and negotiation processes for commodity procurement, ensuring favorable terms and cost-efficiency.
You will compile and analyze price data from various suppliers and collaborate in the preparation of formal purchasing documentation, maintaining precision and adherence to company policies. Acting as a vital liaison between the organization and commodity suppliers, you will nurture relationships that foster mutual benefit and continuous improvement.
Monitoring marketplace prices will be a key deliverable, enabling the company to leverage the most competitive suppliers and optimize procurement costs. Additionally, you will analyze historical consumption trends of commodity inventory items and assess market conditions to recommend adjustments to purchase schedules, ensuring inventory levels align with demand forecasts without incurring excess costs.
Timeliness and accuracy in executing commodity purchase transactions are paramount, necessitating a meticulous approach to detail and compliance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including logistics, quality assurance, and finance will be integral to streamlined operations and achieving supply chain excellence.
- Oversee commodity procurement processes from research through to contract finalization and delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and supplier agreements to optimize value.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging trends and supply risks.
- Maintain supplier relations to ensure high service levels and continuous performance improvement.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with operational requirements.
- Monitor and report on procurement metrics and contribute to strategic sourcing initiatives.
