Sr. Lead Engineering Manager

Job Summary: As a Sr. Lead Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for mentoring of designing and developing innovative and structurally sound bridge solutions. Collaborating with a team of engineers and Site, you will work on various types of bridge projects, including highway bridges, pedestrian bridges, and railway bridges. Your role will involve conceptualizing and mentoring of bridge designs, structural analysis, and preparation of detailed engineering drawings. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of bridge structures.

Responsibilities

• Bridge Design: Develop conceptual and mentor detailed designs for bridge structures, considering factors such as site conditions, environmental impact, and project requirements.
• Structural Analysis: Conduct structural analysis and calculations using engineering software (such as LUSAS, MIDAS, or STAAD) to ensure the integrity and stability of bridge designs under different loading conditions.
• Code Compliance: Ensure that bridge designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, such as IRC, IS, AASHTO, Eurocodes, or local bridge design guidelines.
• Technical Drawings: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Revit) to communicate design intent and facilitate construction.
• Bridge Modeling: Develop 3D bridge models using BIM software to visualize and coordinate design elements with other project stakeholders.
• Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for bridge construction, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate design options, considering technical, economic, and environmental factors.
• Value Engineering: Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities, suggesting cost-effective design alternatives without compromising safety or functionality.
• Construction Support: Provide technical support during the construction phase, responding to queries, reviewing shop drawings, and addressing design-related issues.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in bridge design technologies, industry best practices, and emerging construction methods.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Experience: Proven 15-20 year experience in bridge design, preferably in a consulting or engineering firm.
• Structural Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, bridge design methodologies, and load analysis.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in structural analysis software (such as SAP2000, MIDAS, or STAAD) and CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Revit).
• Code Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant bridge design codes and standards, such as AASHTO, Eurocodes, or local bridge design guidelines.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address design challenges and develop innovative solutions.
• Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
