Job Title: Unpaid Game Developer Internship (AI Tools Focused)

Role Overview

Seeking a passionate game developer intern who has already completed at least one internship in a game development environment and is skilled in leveraging AI tools to build games. This position is ideal for candidates looking to deepen practical game development experience and build a robust portfolio through hands-on work on real games.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on designing, developing, and testing game features and mechanics using industry-standard engines (Unity, Unreal, or similar).
  • Implement AI-driven gameplay elements, character behaviors, or procedural content generation using modern AI tools and frameworks (e.g., Unity ML-Agents, Python-based libraries, Cascadeur, Artbreeder)
  • Assist in debugging, playtesting, and quality assurance.
  • Work closely with designers, artists, and other programmers to integrate AI functionalities efficiently.
  • Document processes and contribute creative ideas to improve game design.

Requirements

  • Previously completed at least one internship in a game development or related setup.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools relevant to game development (ML, neural nets, generative design, procedural content creation, etc.).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python; knowledge of game engines like Unity or Unreal is required.
  • Strong interest or experience in game AI development and related topics (game jams, personal projects, coursework).
  • Good teamwork and communication skills; ability to work remotely and independently on assigned tasks.
