Role:

As the Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounts payable and receivable function within the finance department. Your role will involve leading a team, ensuring accurate and timely raising of customer invoices, managing cash flows, processing vendor invoices, maintaining strong customer and vendor relationships, and implementing best practices in accounting processes. This position shall play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. 

Key Responsibilities

● Team Leadership: Lead and manage the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training, and support. Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment to ensure the team's success. 

● Invoice Generation and Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely generation of customer invoices and processing of vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices and payments. 

● Brand Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers/brands to optimize collection terms and resolve issues promptly. Oversee the onboarding process for new brands, including the collection and verification of required documentation. 

● Vendor Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors to optimize payment terms and resolve issues promptly. Collaborate with vendors to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency. Oversee the onboarding process for new vendors, including the collection and verification of required documentation. 

● Retail Insights: Leverage industry knowledge to anticipate and address the unique challenges of offline retail, enhancing the internal processes. 

● Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounts receivable and accounts payable procedures. Work cross-functionally to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the entire workflow. 

● Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the larger finance team to provide accurate and timely financial reports related to the hygiene of accounts. Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes. 

● Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations along with the legal and Company Secretarial team. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and implement necessary adjustments. Key Requirements 

Experience

: 

Master's degree in Finance, OR CA Inter with 4-6 years of accounting experience, OR MBA in Finance. 

Skills

: 

●Strong knowledge of accounting principles and relevant regulations. Proficiency in accounting, payroll, and MIS tools like Zoho Books, GreytHR and MS Excel would be an advantage. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity. 

● Retail Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with the offline retail ecosystem, ideally having worked with retailers, franchisees, or mall developers. 

● Automation: Adopt new-age tools and processes that enable improving the efficiency and efficacy of the process, enabling building an org that can cater to ever increasing requirements on both volumes and compliance.
