Role & responsibilities
Employee Relations and Labor Law Compliance
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary actions in compliance with labor laws.
- Build strong relations with workers, unions, and management to ensure a harmonious workplace.
- Ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus, etc.) and maintain related records.
- Liaise with labor inspectors, government authorities, and auditors as required.
Performance Management
- Support the implementation of the companys performance appraisal system (KPI/KRA-based).
- Monitor employee performance and assist managers in goal-setting and evaluation processes.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend training or development programs.
Training and Development
- Identify training needs through skill gap analysis and performance reviews.
- Organize technical, behavioral, and safety training programs.
- Coordinate with external trainers or institutes for workforce skill enhancement.
Payroll and HR Operations
- Oversee attendance, leave management, and time office functions.
- Verify payroll inputs, incentive calculations, and deductions.
- Ensure timely salary disbursement and statutory filings.
- Maintain HRMS or ERP-based employee data.
Health, Safety, and Welfare
- Work closely with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) teams to ensure safe working conditions.
- Implement welfare schemes such as canteen, transportation, medical, and recreation facilities.
- Ensure compliance with the Factories Act and other safety-related regulations.
HR Policy Implementation
- Develop and update HR policies aligned with company goals and legal requirements.
- Communicate policies to all employees and ensure uniform implementation.
- Maintain discipline, attendance standards, and code of conduct.
Employee Engagement and Retention
- Plan and execute employee engagement activities and recognition programs.
- Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and suggest improvements.
- Promote a positive and productive work culture across all levels.
Strategic HR and Management Support
- Support management in manpower planning, cost optimization, and succession planning.
- Generate HR metrics and reports for management review (attrition, absenteeism, training hours, etc.).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in HR processes and systems.
