Job Summary:

The Store Engineer is responsible for managing all store activities including receipt, storage, issue, and record maintenance of raw materials, consumables, tools, and finished goods. The role ensures proper inventory control, documentation accuracy, and smooth material flow to support uninterrupted production and dispatch operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily store operations including material inward, storage, and issue as per requirements.
  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and supplier delivery challans.
  • Ensure proper tagging, identification, and traceability of all items.
  • Maintain accurate stock records in ERP / Tally / SAP or other systems.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the purchase department for timely replenishment.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for raw materials, consumables, and finished goods to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, and dispatch teams for material planning and issue.
  • Maintain records for rejections, scrap, returnable materials, and tools.
  • Support dispatch activities, including packing, labeling, and documentation.
  • Implement and maintain 5S, FIFO, and safety standards in the store area.
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to materials and inventory management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of experience in store/inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques, FIFO, and material handling practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of material classification (raw materials, consumables, tools, spares, finished goods).
  • Strong record-keeping, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and documentation control.
