We're on the lookout for a go-getter social media writer who lives and breathes Instagram captions, Twitter trends, meme formats, and punchy storytelling. If your brain switches between brand tone, pop culture references, trending audio, and Gen Z slang in milliseconds, this one's for you. As our Social Media Writer, you'll lead the creative thinking and copy for all daily and monthly content for the brands assigned to you. Your job is to bring a brand's personality to life online – from Instagram carousels to Twitter banter to interactive Reels scripts. You'll work with designers, strategists, and social media managers to turn briefs into ideas and ideas into scroll-stopping content. You'll own the voice, tone, trends, and timeliness of the work – all while making sure it aligns with brand strategy. Key responsibilities: (Functional Competencies [What You'll Do]):
● Social Copywriting & Conceptualization : Craft witty, sharp, brand-specific copy for static posts, carousels, reels, memes, and stories across platforms.
● Trend-Driven Creative Development : Ideate, pitch, and write reactive and proactive social media content that's in sync with cultural and platform trends.
● Monthly Content Planning : Take full ownership of monthly content calendars – from idea to caption to internal review.
● Brand Voice Ownership : Understand and maintain tone consistency across all posts and platforms for your brands.
● Speed + Originality : Think fast and write faster. Sometimes, the deadline is "ASAP" and the idea has to be smart and scroll-stopping. ● Creative Strategy Alignment : Collaborate with the creative lead and strategy teams to ensure your copy supports broader brand and campaign objectives.
● Basic Visual Understanding : While you won't design, your copy will be visual in nature. You should think in layouts, formats, and thumb-stopping hooks.
Behavioural Competencies (How You Work):
● Collaboration with Teams : Work seamlessly with designers, social media managers, and strategists. Be the glue that holds the post together.
● Ownership & Accountability : Lead the end-to-end creative process for the brand's regular social posting – from brainstorming to delivery.
● Adaptability : Adapt your voice and style depending on brand and platform – from edgy and young to witty and elegant.
● Feedback-Positive : Be open to critiques, quick with revisions, and collaborative in creative discussions.
● Detail-Oriented : Obsess over typos, hashtags, line breaks, and CTA phrasing.
● Time Management : Handle multiple brands without missing a beat or a deadline.
● Self-Starter Attitude : No handholding. No "not my job." We love people who ask what more they can do. Skills:
● 2-3 years of writing experience, preferably at a digital agency or content studio. ● Deep love for pop culture, memes, trends, and digital storytelling. ● Proven ability to write across various social media formats. ● A strong reel (no pun intended) of brand content across Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn (Ensure your work/portfolio is well represented in a deck (or a blog) and not a set of social links forwarded ● Obsessed with platform updates and new features (Threads, Notes, X, Reels trends, all of it). ● Understanding of how design and copy work together to drive engagement.
