Manager - Engineering Operation and Maintenance

Purpose of Job:

• To perform and supervise technical and operational control activities for utility equipment.
• To maximise capacity & proper resources utilization.
• To maintain best practices to ensure compliance of cGMP and safety requirements.
• To ensure shift operations in utility and ensuring safe and Good
• Engineering practices.

Essential Experience :

Minimum 10-18 years' experience

Essential Skills: Good knowledge of Operation and Maintenance of Utility equipment. Execution of projects, coordination with other department and maintain overall engineering objectives and initiatives.

Desirable Skills: Work Planning, Scheduling, Communication, Computers, SAP

Troubleshooting, understanding of Electrical Drawings, usage of measuring Instruments, Leadership.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

• To ensure legal/statutory compliance related to boiler and other utility equipment.
• To work as a group leader and responsible for smooth operation & maintenance of utilities to provide uninterrupted utility services to plant to achieve targeted production.
• To Prepare, ensure and monitor compliance of SOPs and related documentation of engineering department.
• To support to site DICO (Data Integrity Compliance Officer) for monitoring and implementation of actions related to data integrity awareness at site.
• To achieve the targeted production, ensure smooth, efficient, uninterrupted and trouble-free operation and maintenance of water plant, HVAC and other utility equipment as per SOPs.
• To implement best practices to comply quality, safety & regulatory requirements.
• To identify area of energy conservation and take operational and technological measures for efficient utilization of energy.
• To keep awareness of operational standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO
• To follow the regulations of various agencies (USFDA, EU, TGA, MHRA, ANVISA, WHO, Schedule M etc.).
• To participate in qualification & requalification of machine/equipment and functional support for qualification, validation and calibration activity.
• Active participation in OMS, OE and EHS activities and engagement in the process.
• Ensure legal/statutory compliance related to utility equipment.
• To maintain, improve and keep updated all Engineering Documents and records.
• Ensure compliance to Quality, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
• To execute project and area renovation work within the timeframe.
• To allocate jobs to workmen and supervise work for quality of job and timely completion.
• To identify repeated breakdown and report and plan for corrective action along with engineering immediate manager to avoid recurrence.
• To maintain low engineering costs & ensure they remain with reasonable variance of sanctioned budget.

• To provide guidance and support to executives and workman.

• To execute and ensure preventive maintenance plans of respective area, and complete related documentation as required by SOP.

• To identify consumables and frequently used spare for each machine and plan in coordination engineering immediate manager for inventory of such spares.
• To maintain work discipline among workmen in consultation with the engineering manager.
• Ensure compliance of SOPs, cGMP practices along with good documentation and record keeping.
• Meet internal customer expectations on costs and quality deliverables.
• To ensure the EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) related activities to be completed on time and to support EHS activities as per requirement. To closing of near misses and incidences as observed as per EHS requirement.
• To ensure compliance of service floor activity.
• Efficient planning, budgeting and timely execution of projects/modification jobs.
• To review Budgets, BOQs, and verification of engineering materials.
• Ensure good documentation & record keeping.
• Reviewing of Logbook off engineering department.
• To review Layouts, Engineering and equipment drawings, and coordination with corporate projects, consultants, vendors, and users for necessary changes.
• To raise purchase requisition for spares and required material in consultation with immediate manager.
• Maintains cGMP practices along with documentation in various records.
• To imparts on job/ Classroom training & Induction training.
• Takes up the responsibilities of the immediate supervisor for the section in his absence.
• Develop skill and efficiency as per the requirement.
• Check and approve incoming engineering materials.
• Maintenance and upkeep of utility equipment.
• Supervises the maintenance activities as required.
• Imparts induction activity to all new joining.
