Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to oversee, implement, and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) within our maritime education company. The role will ensure compliance with international standards (ISO 9001, ISO 21001 for educational organizations, and other relevant maritime education regulations), drive continuous improvement, and uphold the highest quality standards across academic, training, and operational functions. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in quality assurance, internal audits, accreditation processes, and stakeholder coordination, preferably within the education, training, or maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Compliance
· Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's QMS policies, processes, and procedures in line with ISO and maritime education standards.
· Ensure compliance with DG Shipping / STCW (Standards of Training, Certification & Watch keeping) and other statutory accreditation requirements.
· Conduct regular internal audits and coordinate external audits (surveillance, recertification, accreditation reviews).
Audit & Reporting
· Prepare audit plans, conduct quality and process audits, and ensure closure of non-conformities (NCRs) with corrective and preventive actions.
· Maintain accurate documentation of quality records, policies, and procedures.
· Generate periodic quality reports and present to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and improvement areas.
Training & Awareness
· Promote awareness of quality requirements and student/customer satisfaction across academic and operational teams.
· Conduct training sessions, refreshers, and workshops for faculty, staff, and coordinators on QMS compliance and quality culture.
· Support faculty and academic operations in aligning teaching methodologies with international standards.
Process Improvement & Risk Management
· Identify error trends, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions.
· Develop and monitor continuous improvement plans across student enrolment, training delivery, and evaluation processes.
· Liaise with academic and administrative teams to ensure smooth audits, accreditation renewals, and compliance reviews.
Stakeholder Liaison
· Act as the key point of contact for quality matters with management, regulatory authorities, accreditation bodies, and maritime education stakeholders.
· Ensure alignment of quality systems with organizational goals and regulatory expectations.
Skills & Qualifications
Education:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Education Administration, or related field.
· Certification in ISO 9001 (QMS) mandatory; additional certifications such as ISO Education Management Systems), ISO 27001, or maritime quality standards preferred.
Experience:
· 5–8 years of experience in Quality Management, preferably within education/training, maritime, or technical institutions.
· Hands-on experience with internal and external audits, accreditation processes, and regulatory compliance.
· Proven track record in ISO documentation, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Skills:
· Strong knowledge of ISO, QMS, and maritime education quality frameworks.
· Excellent communication (written & spoken), interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented mind-set.
· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and quality management tools/software.
· Leadership skills to mentor junior staff and build a quality-first culture.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹18, ₹20,000.00 per month
