Job Summary:

The Export Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and expanding the company's international business for lubricants and Speciality chemical products. This role involves identifying new markets, building strong client relationships, ensuring compliance with export regulations, and achieving sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute export sales strategies for lubricants and related products.
  • Identify and evaluate new international business opportunities and potential markets.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with overseas customers, distributors, and agents.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with international buyers.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual export sales targets.

2. Market Research & Analysis

  • Conduct market research to understand competitor activities, industry trends, and pricing structures in target markets.
  • Identify product requirements, certifications, and specifications for different countries.
  • Provide market intelligence reports to management for decision-making.

3. Export Operations & Documentation

  • Coordinate with logistics and documentation teams to ensure the timely shipment of goods.
  • Oversee preparation of export documents (Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable export regulations, international trade laws, and incoterms.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs agents.

4. Customer Relationship Management

  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and after-sales support for export clients.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through prompt communication and service.
  • Maintain a CRM database for export customers.

5. Coordination & Internal Communication

  • Work closely with production, quality assurance, logistics, and finance teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with the technical team for product trials, samples, and certifications as required by customers.

6. Financial & Credit Control

  • Monitor payment collections from overseas customers as per agreed terms.
  • Minimise credit risks through proper evaluation of customer profiles.
  • Prepare export sales budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.

Authorities:

  • Approve quotations and price offers within approved limits.
  • Finalise export contracts within delegated authority.
  • Recommend new agents/distributors to management.
  • Approve freight forwarders and shipping service providers in consultation with management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate/Post Graduate in Business Administration, International Trade, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in export sales, preferably in lubricants, chemicals, or industrial products.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade laws, export documentation, and incoterms.
  • Proven track record of achieving export sales targets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
