Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and results-oriented professional to take on the pivotal role of General Manager for our Edible Oil Exports division. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with extensive experience in the international edible oil market and a robust portfolio of existing clients. You will be responsible for managing and expanding our global sales operations, optimizing profitability, and leading the team to achieve ambitious growth targets. This is a senior role for an individual looking to make a significant impact within an established industry leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Direct and expand all sales and business development activities for the edible oil export division, driving revenue growth in both existing and new international markets.
- High-Value Client Management: Leverage your extensive network of international clients to secure high-volume contracts. Nurture and strengthen relationships with key importers, distributors, and large-scale food manufacturers.
- P&L Management: Take ownership of the division's sales performance, with a sharp focus on strategic pricing, cost management, and overall profitability.
- Pricing & Negotiation: Utilize deep market knowledge of edible oil procurement costs, international price fluctuations, and logistics to quote competitively and negotiate high-value contracts.
- Operational Excellence: Coordinate flawlessly with internal departments, including procurement, logistics, finance, and quality assurance, to ensure the seamless and efficient execution of large-scale export orders.
- Market Analysis & Strategy: Monitor global market trends, trade policies, and competitor activities to identify strategic opportunities for growth and mitigate potential risks.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is mandatory. An MBA or a degree in International Trade is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of demonstrable leadership experience in the edible oil trading/export industry.
- Client Portfolio: A strong, verifiable portfolio of active international clients in the edible oil sector is an absolute must-have for this role.
- Industry Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of different types of edible oils (e.g., palm, soybean, sunflower, rapeseed), international quality standards, refining processes, and global sourcing markets.
- Communication: Excellent command of written and spoken English is required.
Skills:
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding multi-million dollar sales targets.
- Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L management.
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level.
