We are a mostly in-person startup, but we are also flexible – you can usually work from home when you need to and come in and leave when you want to. Many employees work from home on average 1 day a week.

Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and motivated Backend Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server-side development, a passion for building robust and scalable backend systems, experience in cloud infra and a keen eye for performance optimization. You will work closely with frontend engineers, database administrators, and product managers to develop and maintain high-performance web applications. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, expertise in backend technologies, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

• Integrate user-facing elements developed by frontend engineers with server-side logic.

• Implement data storage solutions and manage databases.

• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure

• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other team members to define and deliver new features.

• Troubleshoot and debug applications to resolve any issues.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with at least 15 years of experience.

• Strong proficiency in server-side programming languages (e.g., Python, Go)

• Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

• Knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure (e.g., GCP)

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Passion for building robust and scalable backend systems

• Knowledge of testing frameworks

• Experience with performance optimization techniques.
