Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work extensively with files in Adobe InDesign and Acrobat, ensuring fidelity for assigned projects.
  • Create and manage illustrations and photos using Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Build InDesign templates and develop Style Guide documentation.
  • Update book files and create new pages based on supplied manuscripts.
  • Read, understand, and apply information from Style Guides.
  • Ensure compliance with copyright and public domain material usage.
  • Support metadata collection and file structure for content re-purposing.
  • Apply and maintain accessibility features according to guidelines and best practices, including PDF remediation and InDesign accessibility.
  • Attend project meetings, documenting and following up on actions and decisions.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors, vendors, and internal teams to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and maintain appropriate documentation.

Skills Required:

  • Strong expertise in Print & Digital production
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign (including accessibility features)
  • Proficiency in PDF Remediation and InDesign accessibility
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Typesetting principles
  • Attention to detail with Style Guide adherence
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to ensure copyright compliance and manage metadata for re-purposing

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 3-5 years of publishing experience.
