Software Development Engineer, Customer Experience and Business Trends

As an SDE, you will be part of a team that adds new capabilities with multiple visual/audio analytic methodologies. The solutions heavily leverage AI and quantitative analysis to challenge conventional wisdom with hard data. Our SDEs use technology to solve complex problems and get to see the impact of their work first-hand.
Key job responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions for data collection and analysis platforms
Build and optimize automated data collection frameworks across different surfaces (web, mobile)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement efficient solutions
Write high-quality, maintainable code while following best practices and design patterns
Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
Debug production issues and implement performance improvements
Work with ML technologies and extraction services to enhance data processing capabilities
Contribute to architecture decisions and technical strategy
Mentor junior developers and participate in team's agile development process
A day in the life
You'll work closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other engineers to build tools that enable large-scale data collection and analysis. You'll tackle challenges ranging from automation framework development to implementing new features for our self-service platforms, while ensuring high performance and reliability.
About the team
Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understanding and improving customer experience, globally. We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings – for almost every business at Amazon – for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers).
Our approach is based on determining the customer need, along with problem solving, and we work backwards from there. We use technical and non-technical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends. We are a global team, made up of a diverse set of profiles, skills, and backgrounds – including: Product Managers, Software Developers, Computer Vision experts, Solutions Architects, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analysts, Risk Managers, and more.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
