After five years of serving the Pune market through our online channel, this new CMP marks a meaningful evolution in how we connect with our customers. It brings us closer to the community, offering a seamless, inspiring, truly omnichannel IKEA experience and makes us more accessible, sustainable, and customer centric. Together, we're shaping the future of home furnishing.

The upcoming CMP will be an IKEA Small Store S, spanning approximately 2,800 sqm of gross area, and will be located in a prominent shopping mall in the East Cluster. Stay tuned — the exact location will be revealed soon

Your responsibilities

To optimize the IKEA shopping experience in your store to secure satisfied customers and increase sales. You achieve this by leading, inspiring and motivating your team and using your knowledge of the IKEA product range, services, local market and IKEA customers. You use IKEA tools and the expertise of your team and colleagues to support you. In your actions, you always steer the business in a multichannel retail environment, show home furnishing solutions, inspiring home furnishing ideas and finding the balance between efficiency in operation, well-staffed with competent co- workers, customer service and commerciality to secure sales. Serve as a well-qualified home furnishing specialist and leader in life at home while learning and developing in the business. Secure a great Customer shopping experience as the base for your performance to deliver results.

What you'll do as a Commercial Team Leader

    • Your working base is the shop floor where you lead by example every day, supporting, challenging and coaching co-workers. Together with your team, you focus on putting the customer first in everything you do within the store. Every customer must have a shopping experience that exceeds his or her expectations.
  • You take full responsibility for ensuring your shop is in excellent shape as new and fully stocked, always having the four merchandising basics in place (priced, clean, well assembled and available).
    and that the IKEA product range is presented in ways that inspire and satisfy customers in every touch points.

    • Together with your Commercial manager, you take responsibility for your department goals and ensure your action plan is in place and communicated clearly to them and to the team. You follow up and take actions accordingly by using proven solutions, good examples, Vetlanda and toolbox.
  • You define your individual contribution and goals for delivering the store plan. You are passionate about the IKEA products; you have a high level of knowledge about the products' features and benefits and share this with customers and your team.
  • You are proactive in finding business opportunities and acting on them to maximise sales through understanding customers and the local market and keeping an eye on competition. Take responsibility for your department goals in every channel and secure that your action plan ensures the country priorities for CMPs. Being closer in connection with the whole IKEA India team.
  • You act quickly on commercial opportunities (seasonality, vitality, PCD), changing availability of products (overstock, out of stock) and customer feedback (10 FAQ).
  • You together with your team actively sales steer to your store top-selling and prioritised products along with IKEA service products in every channel with the correct forecasting and phase-in/phaseout, to maximise sales and long-term profitability.
  • You secure a strong implementation of IKEA long-term priorities, local market relevance, low price with meaning and PQLs.
  • You execute meaningful actions that are based on the outcome of a key performance indicator analysis.
  • You actively promote the IKEA social and environmental commitment and work with your team to understand how, together, you can contribute to sustainability.
  • Be brave on commercial opportunities or threats to face a fast-changing business environment by monitoring the main KPIs, evaluating relevant input from your local market, investigating local customer needs and their feedback in all the channels.
  • Be an active speaking partner for your Store Team and your matrix in SO to have an effective collaboration between the stores, the markets and the SO, and sharing best practices and prove solutions.
  • Proactively work with P&C SO to have the right number of competent colleagues in the right place at the right time securing that they are fully able and available to guarantee the best customer experience to our visitors, to plan and offer a professional service.
  • Ensure your team has the right growth mindset and sales attitude, the correct knowledge about the product range in your Store and the IKEA services so that they can share this with IKEA customers to exceed their overall expectations on shopping experience.
  • Recruit, onboard & develop your team, as individual members, and their talent to have engaged colleague and ensure a succession planning. Be an active player in working on sustainability initiatives with the team through ensuring sustainability priorities are reflected across store offering.
  • Responsible for securing Fulfilment Operations activities and tasks like goods receiving, replenishment, customer handout and reverse flow are completed on a day-to-day basis.
  • Lead and coach the commercial co-workers supporting fulfilment operations to secure the highest goods availability, operational readiness always at the lowest possible cost and accountable for follow up and improve
  • Secure that tools and equipment are available and maintained to execute the fulfilment operation processes.

  • Ability to follow up and measure performance of output and capture learnings to improve planning and performance moving forward.

  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Understanding and active use of IKEA Manuals, Mandatories, Concept Review and Topic Review check lists. Deep knowledge of Merchandising principals, Sales techniques, Sales steering, sales channels, sales location management/sales space capacity, efficient replenishment, IKEA product range, including service products, range presentation, range cycles, Data Analytics, Sales KPIs and P&L.
  • Knowledge about competitors, your local market and services.

This is achieved by optimising the sales priorities using commercial activities and securing the right forecasts for the total IKEA offer. The main responsibilities are to ensure satisfied customers, secure merchandising basics and SISAN, develop and execute sales steering and selling the IKEA way. This is a combined role responsible for sales including efficient fulfilment.
