Position Purpose

He should be able to handle all Safety aspects in EPC Project within the team or independently.

Dimensions

• He should be able to work independently to implement and develop the safety system and be capable of fast decision making.
• Guide the team of MPI & Agencies engineers, supervisors, and workmen.

Principal Accountabilities

• He will proactively lead to ensure safe working practices and programs are further developed and maintained throughout the local organization.
• Ensure accountability and high-level safety and environmental performance throughout the organization.
• Coach and support people at all levels to realize an exemplary safety culture as part of our total commitment to quality and reliability.

Nature & Scope

• He should be able to coordinate with customers and contractors to maintain safety requirements and deal with agencies.
• Fulfil safety requirements and develop the safety system at site as per MPI policy.

Person Profile

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / Graduate in any engineering discipline with Post Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized university.
• For Diploma in Engineering Minimum 8 years experience.
• For B.Tech / B.E Minimum 5 years experience in EPC Power Projects, Oil & Gas, Chemical, or Heavy Civil Infrastructure.

Experience

• Demonstrate a strong commitment towards health, safety, and environmental standards and guidelines, management systems, and procedures.
• Communicate all health and safety initiatives, processes, and procedures throughout the organization to ensure uniform understanding.
• Train, coach, and support the organization in health, safety, and environmental issues.
• Monitor compliance of HSE requirements and handle non-conformance issues according to relevant procedures.
• Assist and guide management, supervisors, and employees to implement accident prevention activities (including contractors/clients).
• Support managers in risk assessments of workspaces, tools, and coordination of common spaces.
• Roll-out, initiate, and maintain a health and safety management system meeting ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Conduct safety and environmental audits, investigate accidents and root causes, and supervise corrective actions.
• Monitor, communicate, and apply standards from external bodies and integrate them within internal HSE management systems.
• Provide guidance on competency-based HSE training for all persons throughout the organization.

Specific Skills

• Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and PPT for documentation and MIS work.
• Strong communication skills; fluent in local language and English.
