Why This Role Matters
As CTO, you'll architect and scale a platform that integrates waste traceability, marketplace trading, and carbon verification — the backbone of a new climate economy.
This isn't a traditional CTO job.
It's a founding mission — to build India's first real-time carbon marketplace where technology meets sustainability, economics, and policy.
Your Core Responsibilities
1. Product & Platform Leadership
Architect and scale the Wastel Climate Infrastructure Platform — integrating waste sourcing, processing hubs, and carbon tracking.
Lead the design and deployment of modular systems using Flutter, React Native, , and Web3.
Oversee end-to-end product development — from prototype to production.
- Technology Strategy & Innovation
Define the technology roadmap aligned with company growth and investor milestones.
Lead integration of AI for waste mapping, IoT for material tracking, and Blockchain for carbon verification.
Build APIs to connect industries, biofuel manufacturers, and government systems.
- Team & Culture Building
Recruit and mentor a high-performing engineering and design team.
Foster a culture of transparency, experimentation, and sustainable innovation.
- Data & Carbon Systems
Build the MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) system for traceable CO₂ reduction.
Manage platform security, cloud infrastructure, and real-time analytics dashboards.
Your Impact in the First Year
Within 6 months:
Launch the Wastel app (waste marketplace + carbon dashboard).
Onboard 10+ industries and 1,000+ waste suppliers.
Enable tracking of 25,000 tonnes of waste → 12,000 tonnes of CO₂ avoided.
Within 12 months
:
Scale to 50,000+ tonnes processed and ₹3 crore+ transaction volume.
Enable carbon credit issuance and pollution-permit trading.
Achieve first revenue-positive quarter through verified fuel and carbon transactions.
Who You Are
6+ years in software architecture or full-stack development with leadership experience.
Proficient in Flutter, React Native, , Firebase, MongoDB, AWS/GCP.
Strong design sensibility - can work seamlessly with UI/UX and product design teams.
Deep interest in climate tech, sustainability, or carbon markets.
Entrepreneurial mindset - ready to build from zero to one with ownership and equity.
