About the Role
As a Senior Counselor, you will handle end-to-end applications for Australia and ensure high standards of compliance and student satisfaction. This role is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, process-driven, knowledgeable about Australia's admission and visa regulations and passionate about supporting international students. You will report directly to the Destination Manager – Australia and support in daily workflow management, training, and operational updates. On occasion, you may need to work longer hours during busy admission cycles and coordinate with UK and Australia University partners.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Application Management & Compliance
● Provide back-end support by managing the complete application process for students applying to Australian institutions; from receiving offers to handling final visa documentation.
● Assess academic transcripts, financials, SOPs, and supporting documents before submission to ensure adherence to institution-specific checklists.
● Coordinate with the designated admissions officer to ensure that GS (Genuine Student) evaluations meet all compliance requirements while ensuring the timely provision of necessary documentation.
● Review and format Statements of Purpose (SOPs) for visa and institutional requirements, offering constructive edits where necessary.
● Review Offer Letters, acceptance forms, and financial documents in preparation for CoEs or further visa steps.
● Ensure all applications are processed and submitted within internal timelines and before institutional deadlines.
● Maintain high accuracy while uploading and verifying documents on partner portals or internal systems.
● Stay updated with the latest policy changes in Australian admissions and visa rules to ensure compliance and avoid rejections.
● Coordinate with visa processing teams to hand over complete files post-CoE issuance.
2. Agent & Counselor Coordination
● Serve as the point of contact for all Australia applications, liaising closely with agents and counselors across branch offices.
● Coordinate with front-end counselors and agents to collect complete files and maintain smooth communication flow for document tracking and progress updates.
● We have a comprehensive agent network that is divided between the team and the Destination Manager as per the quantum of work to ensure efficient handling, coordination, and timely submission of applications.
● Liaise with university admissions teams for clarification, case escalations, offer follow-ups, and documentation issues.
● Providing training to allocated agents and counselors in branch offices on the application requirements for Australia.
● Support junior team members or new hires in application training and file management best practices.
● Participate in university training sessions to stay updated on application processes and documentation expectations.
3. Reporting & Workflow Management
● Report directly to the Destination Manager – Australia and support in daily workflow management, training, and operational updates.
● Generate daily and weekly status reports on offer issuance, pending documents, and application progress.
● Ensure seamless coordination with associates and internal stakeholders for file completion, escalation, and updates.
● Take ownership of meeting applications and offer conversion targets set by the Destination Manager and management.
4. Student Support & Evaluation
● Assist in mock interviews to clear GS.
● Ensure timely provision of necessary documentation and support from the application side.
