Shift - US Timings - 06:00 PM to 03:30 AM

Over View:
The Benefits Verification Specialist is responsible for utilizing portals or eligibility tools to verify patient coverage, and updating accounts with current coverage primary, secondary and/or tertiary coverage.
Job Description:
- Verifying patients insurance coverage as soon as order is placed
- Obtain essential information needed, name, date of birth, SS#, review any insurance information listed.
- Search for additional information on face sheets faxed in and uploaded to client EHR system.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for all scheduled patients.
- Identify if prior authorization is needed for test ordered.
- Accurately enter and update insurance information in the patient management system.
- Collaborate with billing and clinical teams to resolve insurance-related issues.
- Monitor and follow up on pending verifications and authorizations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, coding, and regulatory requirements.
- Document all verification activities and communications in the system.
- Maintains strict confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Communicates to team lead any issues or concerns related to coverage
- Maintains flexibility regarding schedule changes
Education and Experience:
- Any graduates
- Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid insurance plans.
- 2+ years of previous experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills - M.S. Office (Word/Excel)
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and Microsoft Office suite.
