The IT Program Manager is a core member of the PMO responsible for driving alignment, structure, and predictable execution across IT, Security, GRC, and Business Applications. This role ensures that all technical functions operate from a unified roadmap, share priorities, and execute with clear accountability. The IT PM transforms scattered initiatives into coordinated programs and establishes the processes, cadences, and reporting that allow teams to deliver consistently. They serve as the connective tissue that links IT operations, security maturity, business system improvements, and regulatory compliance to broader business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Program Leadership
- Lead programs that span IT, Security, GRC, and Business Applications.
- Ensure all teams work from a shared roadmap with aligned priorities, timelines, and dependencies.
- Drive intake, scoping, and prioritization for technology and compliance initiatives.
Roadmap and Portfolio Management
- Maintain a unified portfolio of all IT, Security, GRC, and BusApps initiatives.
- Create and manage timelines, risk registers, dependency maps, and executive dashboards.
- Provide leadership with clear, data-driven visibility into progress and blockers.
Execution and Delivery Discipline
- Hold teams accountable to commitments through structured communication, status updates, and escalation paths.
- Support cross-functional teams in breaking down work, sequencing dependencies, and removing obstacles.
- Ensure work moves predictably from planning to delivery.
PMO Structure and Process Improvement
- Build the frameworks for intake, prioritization, change management, communications, and repeatable workflows.
- Develop templates, reporting mechanisms, and operating rhythms that scale across all functions.
- Align IT, Security, GRC, and Business Applications around standardized execution models.
Business Partnership and Alignment
- Collaborate with leaders across Sales, Finance, HR, Operations, Engineering, and Customer-facing teams.
- Translate business needs into coordinated technology and security roadmaps.
- Ensure BusApps, Security, and IT have the structure and context needed to support the business effectively.
Required Experience and Skills
- 5 or more years in program management, PMO, or cross-functional technical leadership roles.
- Experience coordinating IT, Security, GRC, and Business Applications teams.
- Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to create structure from ambiguity and bring predictable execution to high-velocity teams.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Salesforce, identity systems, cloud environments, and enterprise SaaS ecosystems.
- Experience in SaaS environments
- PMP or similar certifications/experience
What Success Looks Like
- Roadmaps across IT, Security, GRC, and Business Applications become unified and predictable.
- Dependencies are surfaced and resolved before they become blockers.
- Communication across teams becomes consistent, clear, and structured.
- Leadership can trust PMO visibility, forecasting, and reporting.
- Teams deliver faster because the PM has eliminated ambiguity and aligned priorities.
