Your Accountabilities:

• Work with stakeholders to define the problem, objectives, and key results for initiatives or change deliveries in the backlog.
• Design comprehensive, channel-agnostic business processes that align with BT standards and customer journey objectives, by identifying the current state, analyzing gaps, and creating the future experience, processes, capabilities, and data.

• Conduct discovery, scoping, and options analysis, collaborating across teams to evaluate solutions and define MVPs/MMPs.

• Lead the creation and definition of requirements for initiatives, ensuring data-driven insights and performance tracking.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to integrate data models, KPIs, and analytics, addressing data gaps.

• Develop epics, features, and user stories, ensuring timely readiness for delivery teams, while facilitating collaboration with key stakeholders for alignment and shared understanding.

• Complete capability maturity analysis, define future requirements, and design operating model changes to support transformation.

• Conduct unhappy path analysis and identify edge cases to ensure robust solutions.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and mediate discussions to prioritize and meet business needs.
• Present findings and options to senior stakeholders, including Directors and MDs, to influence effective decision-making.
• Quality assure technical designs and solutions, and support defect resolution by facilitating prioritization and recovery planning.
• Document and publish updates to launched business processes.

Skills Required:

Business Analysis Expertise

• Proficiency in structured approaches to identify, investigate, analyse, and communicate business problems and opportunities.
• Ability to conduct feasibility assessments, options analysis, and business case development.
• Skilled in synthesizing and presenting insights in a clear, actionable, and accessible manner to senior stakeholders.

2. Data and Reporting

• Strong understanding of data and analytics, including defining data requirements and working with stakeholders to deliver actionable reporting solutions.
• Familiarity with data models, KPIs, and tools to ensure insights are embedded in operational and strategic decision-making.

3. Process Design and Improvement

• Strong capability in designing, analysing, and optimising business processes to improve operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
• Experience leading unhappy path and failure mode analyses to ensure robust and reliable solutions.

4. Requirements Management

• Proven ability to define, prioritize, and manage complex requirements, including functional, non-functional, and data requirements through their lifecycle.
• Experience in breaking down large scopes into logical phases, epics, and features to enable incremental delivery.

5. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and mediate across diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to facilitate collaboration, align conflicting priorities, and maintain focus on customer and business needs.

6. Agile and Lean Practices

• Understanding of Agile methodologies and ability to work effectively in iterative delivery environments.
• Skilled in enabling teams to prioritize work and deliver MVPs and MMPs at pace.

7. Analytical and Strategic Thinking

• Strong analytical skills to assess business needs, synthesize complex data, and provide evidence-based recommendations.

8. Tools and Methods

• Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and other collaboration platforms to manage workstreams effectively.
• Experience with relevant business analysis tools and techniques, including process mapping, capability maturity modelling, and FMEAs.
• Ability to select and apply the right tools and methods to fit the scope and context of a project.

The Business Analysis Specialist executes workstreams to deliver business analysis activities that support BT Group strategies. They provide insights into profitability, efficiency, and effectiveness, ensuring accurate analysis of activities, investments, and initiatives across the group to drive informed decision-making and strategic contributions.

1. Manages structured discovery approaches to investigate business performance that drive strategic business planning.

2. Analyzes historical and current data to define business, functional, and non-functional requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

3. Facilitates collaboration with stakeholders to streamline reporting processes and ensure effective communication of project objectives and outcomes to senior management.

4. Assesses key metrics to track project objectives and delivery phases, providing insights and recommendations to optimize project outcomes.

5. Evaluates business processes to identify and mitigate operational risks and bottlenecks, ensuring compliance with defined objectives and delivery phases.

6. Conducts in-depth analysis of business needs to support strategic development, facilitating effective stakeholder collaboration to define and manage project objectives.

7. Coordinates with cross-functional teams to structure effective discovery approaches, ensuring all relevant inputs are considered and documented.

8. Assesses data and performs regressions and other statistical analyses to help identify meaningful data relationships, key performance indicators, and key risk indicators.

9. Conducts and coordinate workshops to structure discovery approaches and gather comprehensive requirements from cross-functional teams.
