  • Design, implement, and maintain complex database systems, encompassing schema design and capacity planning, to meet evolving business needs.
  • Architect and optimize database solutions for scalability, performance, and high availability, aligning with business requirements.
  • Implement and manage database clustering, replication, and other high-availability strategies.
  • Proactively monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance through query optimization, index management, and server configuration.
  • Establish and enforce database security policies, including user access controls and encryption, ensuring data integrity.
  • Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations and internal security standards, conducting regular audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Develop and implement robust database backup and disaster recovery plans, ensuring data recoverability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance, access, and utilization issues, providing timely support.
  • Support developers, data analysts, and stakeholders with database-related inquiries and problem resolution.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal operational disruption.
  • Stay abreast of emerging database technologies and integrate relevant advancements to enhance system functionality.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including data models, schemas, and operational procedures.
  • Develop and update database knowledge bases and troubleshooting guides.

Qualifications (Good to Have) :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Extensive expertise in SQL Server and Oracle database management.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell).
  • Demonstrated experience with database backup, recovery, and replication techniques.
  • Proven ability in database performance tuning, optimization, monitoring, and automation.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with open-source databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud database environments (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong foundation in IT solutions and implementation.
