Job Title : ERP Database Administrator (PostgreSQL)Location : Chennai, IndiaExperience : 9+ YearsNotice Period : Immediate to 30 DaysResponsibilities :

  • Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL databases to support the ERP system.
  • Manage database security, including user access, roles, and permissions.
  • Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and responsiveness.
  • Implement and maintain database maintenance plans, including index rebuilding, vacuuming, and statistics updates.
  • Manage database storage, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with ERP application teams to ensure seamless database integration.
  • Provide database support for ERP application development, testing, and deployment.
  • Optimize database queries and performance for ERP applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues affecting ERP system performance.
  • Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
  • Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Implement and manage database encryption and data masking solutions.
  • Analyze database performance metrics and identify bottlenecks.
  • Implement performance tuning strategies to optimize database performance.
  • Monitor and tune database parameters for optimal performance.
  • Provide recommendations for hardware and software upgrades to improve database performance.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including configuration, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to database standards and best practices.
  • Create and maintain database schemas and data models.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, developers, and end-users to ensure effective communication and problem resolution.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular status updates.

Technical Skills : Required :

  • 9+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
  • Extensive experience in installing, configuring, and managing PostgreSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of database administration principles and best practices.
  • Experience with database backup, restore, and disaster recovery.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning.
  • Experience with database security and compliance.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and their database requirements.

Preferred :

  • Experience with PostgreSQL replication and high availability solutions.
  • Experience with cloud-based PostgreSQL deployments (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, GCP Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with database automation and scripting (shell scripting, Python).
  • Knowledge of database security tools and techniques.
  • Experience with database migration tools and techniques.
  • Experience with other database systems (Oracle, MySQL).

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 9+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.
  • Proven experience in managing databases for ERP systems.
  • PostgreSQL certifications are a plus.
