Job Description:
A Hotel Operations Manager oversees daily operations across all departments (like front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage) to ensure smooth functioning, high guest satisfaction, and profitability. Key responsibilities include managing staff, monitoring budgets, implementing and enforcing operational policies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. They are crucial for maintaining service quality, handling guest complaints, and improving overall efficiency. 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations: Manage all aspects of the hotel, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction: Implement strategies to provide excellent guest service, address complaints, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Manage staff: Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule hotel staff to maintain high standards of performance and professionalism.
  • Financial management: Monitor hotel finances, manage budgets, forecast revenue, and control expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Maintain standards: Ensure the hotel meets all health, safety, and security regulations, and enforce quality and cleanliness standards throughout the property.
  • Coordinate departments: Ensure seamless coordination between different departments to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Handle vendor relations: Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure the hotel has the necessary supplies and services.
  • Report performance: Analyze performance metrics and report on key operational data to senior management. 
 
Required skills and qualifications
  • Degree in hospitality or a related field.
  • Experience in hotel management (typically 3-4 years as a manager).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good commercial awareness and financial acumen.
