Junior System Engineer

The impact you will make

The Junior System Engineer is an important external representation of the IT department, the candidate needs to be highly colleague focused with attention to colleague satisfaction including timely resolution and follow up. This role is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of end-user hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for the level 1 & 2 support of all enterprise desktop, laptop, mobile devices, hand-held and other devices. The Desktop Support Analyst is a customer-facing role, and requires excellent prioritization, responsiveness, and customer service, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. This individual will be responsible for developing, presenting and maintain introductory technology training documentation for new and current customers A strong sense of accountability, urgency, and responsibility are critical for the success of this role. You must be able to quickly and effectively diagnose and resolve issues related to PCs, mobile devices, printers, and videoconferencing / conference rooms.

What you will do

• Must have the ability to work in an environment that requires quick turnaround, poise and skill with frequent interaction with senior management and external business partners requiring diplomacy, problem solving skills, resourcefulness, and professionalism.

• Establish trust and maintain a high level of confidentiality for all activities/tasks; supporting in person as well as via phone.
• Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Windows 10, Windows 11, MAC, Microsoft Office, IOS, Android and other end user device operating systems.
• Install, upgrade, and configure desktop, laptop, mobile devices, headsets, printers, scanners, monitors, cameras, and other peripheral equipment.
• Performs general preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment including BIOS, operating system service patches, application software patches, and critical security patches.
• Influence and collaborate with other technical teams in the pursuit of resolving complex technical issues.
• Performs remedial repairs on computers, laptops, printers and any other equipment. Performs work in compliance within specified warranty requirements. Return defective equipment/parts to maintenance inventory, documents customer repairs, maintains and restocks assigned parts inventory to insure proper spare parts levels.
• Monitor, operate, managing, troubleshoot and restore to service laptop, desktops and other compute devices. When the restoration is beyond the scope of internal repair, escalate the issue/problem to vendor or 3rd party support.
• Represent the interests of the customer internally, providing appropriate escalation to other IT functions.
• Build and support powershell EXE based software tools that enable quick and easy deployments of complex processes supporting EUTS, Service Desk and other departments.

What you will bring

• Professional certification preferred
• 5+ years of hands-on technical knowledge of laptops, desktops, and software installation required
• 3+ years of experience in an enterprise, break-fix environment
• Experience with Office 365 and Microsoft Intune
• Experience supporting and providing high customer service to executives and all levels of the organization    
• Installation / Migration / Refresh experience in Windows 10 & 11 and MAC
• Possesses excellent organization and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail
• Proven knowledge and experience in End User Technology
• Uses initiative and is proactiver
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output
• High School diploma or GED
• Good sense of humor with positive attitude
• Flexible and can occasionally work outside of normal working hours
• Travel:  Minimum travel may be required
