We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Python-Tech Lead to guide the design, development, and deployment of digital and data-driven initiatives across our insurance platforms. You will lead technical teams to deliver scalable, complaint, and efficient solutions that drive business outcomes across underwriting, pricing, claims, and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of insurance applications and data solutions using Python, SQL, and HTML.
• Design, build and optimize data pipelines, ETL scripts, and APIs for integration with internal and third-party systems.
• Collaborate with business, underwriting, claims, and IT teams to design and implement digital workflows and automation across insurance operations.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights that improve underwriting, pricing, claims handling, and customer engagement.
• Oversee the design and delivery of dashboards, web interfaces, and reporting tools tailored to business users.
• Ensure data governance, privacy, and security compliance in all technical solutions.
• Drive technical architecture decisions, establish coding and quality standards, and enforce best practices.
• Mentor and coach developers, analysts, and other team members to build technical capability and ownership.
• Act as an SME for technical solutions in insurance platforms and contribute to strategic technology planning.
• Track and report key delivery and data quality metrics to leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in the insurance industry (P&C, Life, Health, or speciality insurance) with hands-on delivery experience.
• Proven hands-on experience with Python (scripting, data processing, automation), SQL (complex queries, data modelling, performance tuning), and HTML (web interface customisation/integration).
• Strong understanding of insurance business processes — policy administration, underwriting, rating, claims, and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL) and building/operating data pipelines.
• Experience building APIs and integrations (REST/JSON) and integrating with enterprise systems.
• Solid stakeholder management, problem-solving skills, and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good To Have
Candidates with these additional skills on their resumes have an added advantage when their profiles are being assessed. Some of them are as follows:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and deploying data solutions on the cloud.
• Experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau) and building business dashboards.
• Prior exposure to Guidewire or other insurance platform implementations.
• Certifications in data engineering, cloud, or insurance domain (e.g., AINS) are a plus.
• Experience with data governance frameworks and security/compliance standards.
