Job Summary:

The Transport In charge will be responsible for overseeing and managing transport operations across 4 school branches. The role involves close coordination with the Transport Managers of each branch, reviewing daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety and statutory norms, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate should have extensive managerial experience in school transport management with a strong focus on planning, supervision, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end transport operations across 4 branches to ensure smooth and safe movement of students and staff.
  • Coordinate daily with Transport Managers of each branch to review route efficiency, attendance of drivers and attendants, vehicle readiness, and operational issues.
  • Consolidate reports from all branches and submit a comprehensive daily/weekly summary to the management.
  • Monitor and track vehicle documents, insurance, fitness certificates, pollution checks, and driver license renewals across all branches.
  • Ensure adherence to school safety standards, RTO guidelines, and traffic regulations.
  • Supervise route planning and suggest improvements to optimize travel time and fuel efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed MIS records, transport logs, and reports for audits and decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage breakdowns, emergencies, and special transport requirements promptly.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of vehicles and evaluate the performance of drivers, attendants, and branch transport teams.
  • Organize training sessions for drivers and attendants on safety protocols and behavioral expectations.
  • Work closely with parents and school authorities to address transport-related concerns effectively.
  • Provide regular feedback and guidance to branch Transport Managers to maintain uniform operational standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 – 10 years of
    managerial experience in school transport operations
    .
  • Proven experience in handling transport for multiple branches or large fleets.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in route planning, fleet monitoring, and transport compliance.
  • Good communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel, data management, reporting).
  • Willingness to travel between branches regularly.
