Role & responsibilities

Perform system configurations, MACD (Moves, Adds, Changes, Deletes) on Nortel platforms.

  • Administer and maintain Nortel voice infrastructure and network components.
  • Apply firmware and software patches/upgrades.
  • Manage user profiles, extensions, voicemail, and hunt groups.
  • Follow ITIL practices to manage incidents, problems, and changes.
  • Document and escalate issues to L3/Nortel vendor support when required.
  • Participate in change review meetings and prepare change request documentation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (network, IT infra, vendors) for issue resolution.
  • Provide guidance to L1 team members and assist with knowledge transfer.
  • Communicate status updates to stakeholders on incidents and projects.

Preferred candidate profile


• Handle escalated incidents from L1 support for Nortel PBX, VoIP, and legacy telephony systems.
• Perform root cause analysis for persistent or complex telephony/network issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware/software issues in Nortel equipment such as:

  • Nortel CS1000 (Call Server)
  • Nortel Meridian
  • Nortel BCM (Business Communications Manager)
  • Nortel Norstar systems
