Job Brief:

We are looking for an experienced Fabric Sourcing Specialist to ensure that the right fabrics are sourced at the right time, in the right quantity, and at competitive prices. You will play a critical role in supporting our product development and maintaining the quality standards of our garments.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential fabric suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and quality standards to make informed sourcing decisions.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to specify fabric requirements that meet design and budget expectations.
  • Negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery timelines with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Monitor the performance of suppliers regarding quality, delivery times, and compliance with standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging fabric technologies and sustainable sourcing practices.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify new fabric options and trends that align with customer preferences.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for fabric procurement and evaluate options for cost savings.
  • Ensure timely delivery of fabrics to meet production schedules and maintain inventory levels.
  • Foster constructive relationships with internal teams and external partners to enhance productivity.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience in fabric sourcing within the apparel industry or a related field.
  • Strong ability to analyze market trends and fabric performance data.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices and industry best standards.
  • Degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is preferred.
