The Role:
As a Senior Animator with facial animation skills at LightFury, you will be responsible for creating high-quality animations for our AAA games, with a focus on facial animation. You will work closely with the animation team, designers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement animations that meet the project's artistic and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality animations, including facial animations, for characters and creatures in our AAA games.
• Develop and maintain the animation style and direction of the game, ensuring consistency and quality across all animations.
• Collaborate with the animation team to develop and implement animation assets, including keyframe animations, state machines, and blend trees.
• Work with the design team to develop and implement animation-related game mechanics, including character movements, attacks, and interactions.
• Troubleshoot animation-related issues and optimize animation performance.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for animation assets and pipelines.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure that animations meet the needs of the game and are delivered on time.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in animation and game development.

Facial Animation Skills

• Create high-quality facial animations, including lip sync, eye movements, and facial expressions.
• Develop and maintain facial animation systems, including facial rigging, skinning, and animation tools.
• Collaborate with the character art team to develop and implement facial animation assets, including facial models, textures, and materials.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in animation or a related field.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, and motion.
• Proficiency in animation software, such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
• Experience with facial animation software, such as Faceware, Dynamixyz, or Live2D.
• Familiarity with game engines, such as Unreal Engine 5 or Unity.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Computer Science, or a related field is required.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with motion capture technology and data.
• Knowledge of rigging and character setup.
• Experience with character animation and keyframe animation.
• Familiarity with game development pipelines and tools, such as Perforce or Git.
