Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant-Tableau Admin

Key Responsibilities :

1. Workspace & Pipeline Management :

2. Design, create, and manage Power BI workspaces for different environments (Development, UAT, and Production).

3. Configure and monitor deployment pipelines to ensure controlled and seamless movement of reports, datasets, and dashboards across environments.

4. Implement best practices for workspace hierarchy, access, and lifecycle management to support large-scale adoption.

5. Access & Security :

6. Manage Active Directory (AD) groups for role assignments and enforce secure access to Power BI resources.

7. Configure Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS) to safeguard sensitive data.

8. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies while providing appropriate levels of access for developers, analysts, and end-users.

9. Report Deployment & Migration :

10. Manage the end-to-end migration of reports and datasets from MicroStrategy and other BI platforms into Power BI.

11. Ensure version control and consistency of reports while deploying updates or enhancements across environments.

12. Collaborate with development teams to maintain release notes, rollback strategies, and deployment documentation.

13. Data Gateway & Refresh Management :

14. Install, configure, and manage On-Premises Data Gateways for hybrid data connectivity.

15. Monitor and troubleshoot scheduled refresh failures, ensuring business-critical reports remain up to date.

16. Work with database teams to maintain stable data source connections and resolve credential/permission issues.

17. Monitoring & Optimization :

18. Monitor Power BI Service health, including usage metrics, refresh performance, and capacity utilization.

19. Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in datasets, reports, and dashboards.

20. Optimize queries, model designs, and refresh schedules to maintain high-quality reporting experience.

21. Licensing & Governance :

22. Manage Power BI licensing (Pro, Premium, Fabric/Capacity nodes) for users and teams.

23. Enforce governance frameworks, including naming conventions, workspace usage policies, and security guidelines.

24. Maintain audit logs and ensure adherence to organizational standards and compliance requirements.

25. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management :

26. Act as the primary liaison between developers, business teams, and IT administrators to ensure alignment of requirements.

27. Provide guidance and training to developers and analysts on Power BI best practices.

28. Support business teams in adopting Power BI by enabling self-service BI within governance boundaries.

29. Issue Resolution & Support :

30. Troubleshoot and resolve user access issues, refresh failures, and performance degradation.

31. Provide L2/L3 level support for Power BI incidents escalated by end-users or IT support teams.

32. Ensure minimum downtime and fast resolution for business-critical reporting issues.

33. Audit, Compliance & Documentation :

34. Maintain detailed logs and records of workspace changes, user access, and activity monitoring.

35. Support compliance audits by providing evidence of security controls, access history, and governance policies.

36. Document processes, SOPs, and best practices for Power BI environment management.

Required Skills & Competencies :

• Strong hands-on experience (4+ years) in Power BI Administration.

• Expertise in managing Power BI Service, Workspaces, and Deployment Pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS), OLS, and AD group management.

• Proficiency in Power BI Gateway setup and refresh troubleshooting.
