Ensure efficient logistics operations by understanding supply linkages and demand trends, optimizing fleet utilization, and implementing effective controls through VTS. Maintain strict adherence to compliance and safety standards, manage incidents and accidents promptly, and oversee vendor onboarding and fleet management. Drive conflict resolution, conduct vendor performance audits, and ensure seamless coordination to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Understand supply linkages and demand trends.
- Align fleet deployment to support supplies from individual locations in accordance with the linkage plan.
- Analyse seasonal demand trends and implement proactive measures to address demand surges by augmenting fleet capacity.
- Fleet Optimisation
- Maximize utilization of existing fleet in line with demand to optimize freight costs.
- Monitor turnaround time (TAT) to ensure timely deliveries with appropriate fleet strength.
- Coordinate with transporters to address and resolve trip delays effectively.
- Provide actionable insights through leading and lagging indicators to drive operational efficiency.
- Effective controls through VTS
- Ensure 100% fleet compliance with VTS installation and functionality.
- Asset management for VTS devices, stock reconciliation for non-functional vehicles
- Restrict trip planning for vehicles with non-reporting VTS devices to maintain operational control.
- Analyse trip data to detect tampering and ensure integrity of tracking systems.
- Verify latitude and longitude coordinates during trip closure for accuracy.
- Conduct regular trip analysis to validate RTKM (Round Trip Kilometre) authenticity.
- Track and follow up on non-reporting vehicles to minimize operational risks.
- Coordinate resolution for vehicles detained at retail outlets to avoid delays.
- Audit trips of newly commissioned retail outlets to confirm RTKM and location accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to compliance and safety measures.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSSEQ policies and company guidelines by all vendors.
- Monitor fleet compliance with safety parameters as per company standards.
- Verify all mandatory documentation for tank trucks (TT) and crew before operations.
- Enforce penalties for violations captured by the Control Room in line with company policy.
- Counsel transporters on observed violations to improve compliance and performance.
- Handling incidents / accidents.
- Incident Management: Proactively respond to accidents and incidents reported by the control room or transporters, ensuring timely and effective action.
- Risk Mitigation: Coordinate closely with the control room to provide necessary support and implement measures to prevent further risks.
- Incident Reporting: Prepare and submit initial incident reports promptly for internal review and escalation.
- Insurance Coordination: Notify the insurance company regarding incidents, arrange spot surveys, and provide all required documentation to facilitate claim settlement.
- Product Handling: Initiate corrective actions for deviations and manage contaminated products in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Vendor Onboarding and fleet management.
- Vendor Identification: Identify and recommend potential vendors to the Head Office in alignment with business requirements.
- Market Intelligence: Provide detailed market insights and analysis on identified vendors to support decision-making.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all vendor onboarding documentation complies with company policies and standards.
- Requirement Fulfilment: Oversee fulfilment of all contractual and operational requirements, including fleet size, bank guarantees, security deposits, and ensure timely renewals.
- Fleet Management: Coordinate with transporters to maintain fleet hygiene, safety standards, and operational discipline.
- Conflict Resolution
- Liaising with all concerned parties to ensure resolution of issues with bare minimum escalation.
- Counselling transporters to increase awareness on SOP's / policies and importance to its adherence.
- Vendor performance audit
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of vendors based on defined parameters to drive improvements in quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Educational Qualifications & Certifications: Graduate / PG or Diploma in related field
- Total Years of Experience: 10 Years – 15 Years
- Relevant Experience: 6-10 years of experience
