Job Description - Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Engineering Warehouse

Purpose : To independently manage the Engineering Stores operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and issuance of engineering materials while maintaining accurate inventory and adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Dimensions Independently handling required

Financial (Dept. Budget / turnover)

  1. Responsible for store inventory worth 10crores.
  2. Accountable for cost control within the department

Challenges of the role external/uncontrollable factors.

  1. Unpredictable supply chain disruptions affecting material availability
  2. Coordination with multiple stakeholders for timely material movement
  3. Adhering to audit and compliance standards amidst dynamic operational demands

Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities: -

Inventory Management

  • Ensure accurate stock levels through cycle counts and periodic audits
  • Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory
  • Maintain inventory records in ERP/SAP system

Material Receipt & Issue

  • Coordinate inward & outward movement of engineering materials
  • Ensure timely issuance as per production/maintenance requirements
  • Verify material quality and documentation during receipt

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with procurement, vendors & transporters for timely material flow
  • Provide MIS reports to management

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to statutory and safety norms in stores operations
  • Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards

Team Supervision & Development

  • Train and guide store team members
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews

Nature of Experience

  1. Must have experience in Engineering Warehouse operations.
  2. Must Have experience in SEZ Activities.
  3. Must Have experience in Chemical plant/Pharma

Duration of Experience : - 10 to 15 years

Education : - ( Preferable Material Mgmt. also)

  1. Strong knowledge of storekeeping practices in engineering/materials domain
  2. Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems
  3. Inventory control and documentation
  4. Leadership and team handling
  5. Communication and coordination skills
  6. Understanding of compliance and safety standards
  7. Analytical and problem-solving skills
