BESS - Senior EngineerCandidate will reports to the Head of the Engineering Department(Technology). Responsibilities cover all the activities of ENGIE in India and overseas, where projects are developed and built.The position is based in Pune and business trips may be envisaged in India & overseas.The missions are :Provide expert advice and services throughout the lifecycle of solar power systems, from planning and implementation to monitoring and maintenance.Ensure that Solar inverter meet high standards of quality and can withstand various environmental conditions.Focus on developing and implementing cutting-edge technologies to improve Solar inverter efficiency and durability.Responsibilities:Provide deep technical knowledge on BESS design, engineering, execution, operations & maintenance.Support project teams with battery technology selection, sizing, and system integration.Recommend improvements to enhance availability, performance, reliability, and lifespan of storage solutions.Ensure compliance with all applicable ENGIE policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines for BESS.Establish processes, protocols, and guidelines for BESS projects to ensure consistency and high-quality execution.Continuously improve and refine processes based on lessons learned from past projects.Lead efforts to industrialize BESS solutions, driving scalability, cost-efficiency, and standardization.Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and other industry stakeholders to leverage technical best practices and innovations, together with ENGIE's teams (BESS Procurement & Digital, Laborelec Storage Lab).Conduct and oversee technical peer reviews to validate project viability and ensure best practices are adhered to.Lead technical due diligence efforts on new technologies, partnerships, or acquisitions in the BESS domain.Mentor and train project teams on BESS-related technical topics, ensuring the consistent upskilling of company personnel.Facilitate the exchange of technical knowledge and best practices across global teams.Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of battery technologies, power electronics, grid integration, and energy storage system design.Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and guide teams to successful completion.Process Development: Skill in designing and optimizing workflows and procedures to improve efficiency and quality.Analytical Capabilities: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and propose solutions.Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to a variety of stakeholders.Stay updated with the latest advancements in solar technology and integrate them into existing processes.Review and approve PV module specifications and recommend engineering and manufacturing changes.Conduct detailed technical specification reviews and inspections of PV module manufacturing facilities.Time to time plant visit and monitor manufacturing processes, including cell soldering, lay-up, lamination, assembly, testing, and final inspection.Ensure compliance with quality management systems and health, safety, and Perform thermal and IV (current-voltage) testing of PV modules.Analyze and report test results, ensuring modules meet performance and reliability standards.Conduct field performance analysis and reliability assessments of PV modules.Identify and address quality issues in solar component production.Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, and finished solar components.Write technical reports, testing protocols, and trend analyses.Ensure the testing of solar cells as per standard operating procedures.Manage internal, third-party, and customer audits to ensure conformance to specifications.Ensure PV module must meet several standards to ensure their safety, performance, and reliability. Like IEC 61215, IEC 61730, IEC61701 standards.Product development within ENGIEParticipate in the qualification of new Module VendorsPre-requisites:Masters/Bachelor's degree in engineering BE/BTech or equivalent (Full time) AICTE recognised University.5+ years of relevant work experience in an Module manufacturing, Inspection and TestingStrong understanding of PV module manufacturing processes and quality assurance protocols.Expertise in BESS and balance of system (BoS) specifications.Proficiency in using simulation software for energy yield analysis.Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret statistical data.Effective communication skills, both oral and written in English.Knowledge of the solar market and ability to travel periodically to remote PV plant locationsBusiness Unit: GBU Renewables & Flexible PowerDivision: REN AMEA - IndiaLegal Entity: ENGIE Energy and Services India Private LimitedProfessional Experience: Skilled ( >3 experience
