Essential duties/responsibilities:

  • Lead, hire, train, and mentor a team of Collections and Cash Application Specialists.
  • Establish clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve collections efficiency and reduce DSO.
  • Oversee daily cash application processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance teams to resolve payment issues.
  • Monitor key metrics and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across collections and cash application functions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Handle escalations and complex customer issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Support audits and provide documentation as required.
  • Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for the department.

Required Job Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven leadership experience in managing finance teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (Workday Financials preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively across time zones and cultures.
  • Experience with process improvement and change management.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in collections and cash application
  • 5+ years in a leadership role.
