Key Skills:

Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (preferably Creo); strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis.

  • Good knowledge of pump design principles (gear, vane, centrifugal types), sealing techniques, and materials.
  • Experience in working with sheet metal, plastics, die-cast parts, and injection molding components.
  • Familiarity with product validation protocols and design release procedures.
  • Exposure to automotive standards (ISO/IATF 16949), FMEA, and DFM/DFA principles.
  • Strong project planning, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle customer interactions, technical presentations, and cross-functional collaboration.R
  • Role & responsibilities

Own and lead the design & development of mechanical pump assemblies (fuel, water, oil) for 2W & 4W platforms.

  • Guide and review work done by junior designers; act as a technical mentor within the design team.
  • Lead design activities in alignment with project timelines, cost, weight, and performance targets.
  • Conduct and review 3D modelling and 2D detailing using Creo.
  • Validate designs using tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T, and DFM/DFA principles.
  • Collaborate with CAE, testing, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust and manufacturable designs.
  • Interface with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers for design reviews, technical discussions, and engineering changes.
  • Support prototype development, lab testing, and field validation phases.
  • Lead or contribute to FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and change management (ECR/ECO) processes.
  • Ensure proper documentation, including BOMs, design releases, and compliance with design standards.
