Energy Efficiency Engineer
Position Overview
Energy efficiency engineers are responsible for energy management, optimization, and energy-saving technology application in enterprises or projects . By analyzing and improving energy efficiency, they aim to reduce energy consumption, lower operating costs, and enhance sustainability .
He/she is the technical core role of the enterprise's energy management system and green operations, and is usually affiliated with the HSE department, engineering department, energy management department or sustainable development department .
Main Responsibilities
- Energy Management and Monitoring
Analyze the company's energy usage (electricity, gas, water, steam, etc.) and establish an energy consumption database.
Develop and implement energy management plans to ensure energy consumption is aligned with corporate strategy and regulatory requirements.
Monitor energy consumption indicators (KPIs), identify abnormal energy consumption and propose improvement plans.
Promote the implementation of energy management system certification (such as ISO
- Energy Efficiency Evaluation and Optimization
Conduct energy efficiency assessments of production equipment, building facilities and industrial processes.
Design and implement energy-saving renovations, optimization plans and process improvements.
Conduct energy saving potential analysis and develop return on investment and implementation plans (ROI analysis).
Conduct energy audits and provide technical reports and optimization recommendations.
- Project Management and Implementation
Lead energy optimization projects, including new technology applications, energy-saving equipment installation, and system upgrades.
Coordinate various departments (production, engineering, maintenance, procurement) to implement energy-saving plans.
Track project results and evaluate energy savings and economic benefits.
Participate in renewable energy, energy storage and smart energy system projects.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
Establish energy data analysis and visualization tools to generate regular reports.
Provide decision support and provide a basis for management to formulate energy-saving strategies and investment plans.
Prepare energy performance reports and participate in data support for corporate ESG/sustainability reports.
V. Training and Cultural Development
Provide energy-saving awareness training for employees to enhance the energy efficiency management awareness of all employees.
Promote green office and production culture, and advocate low-carbon and sustainable concepts.
Organize energy management activities or publicity to enhance employee participation.
VI. Compliance with Regulations and Standards
Track energy management, energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection related laws, policies and standards.
Ensure that enterprises comply with regulatory requirements in energy use and project transformation.
Participate in external energy audits or regulatory inspections and coordinate corrective actions.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree or above in Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related majors; Master degree preferred.
More than 3 years of experience in energy management, energy-saving projects or industrial energy efficiency optimization.
Familiar with energy management standards and regulations (ISO 50001, energy conservation and emission reduction policies, etc.).
Proficiency in energy analysis tools, calculation methods, and energy-saving technologies (e.g., HVAC optimization, power systems, compressed air systems, renewable energy).
Possess project management, data analysis and cross-departmental coordination capabilities.
Good English skills and the ability to read energy management literature and technical standards.
