Weaving Supervisor

Job Title: Weaving Supervisor – Home Textile

Department: Production

Reports To: Production Manager/Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Leadership:
• Supervise and guide a team of weaving operators and technicians.
• Ensure smooth workflow within the weaving section by coordinating with other departments (e.g., yarn, dyeing, finishing).
• Provide training and development to the weaving team to improve their technical skills and safety awareness.
• Production Planning and Control:
• Ensure weaving machines and equipment are operated efficiently to meet production targets.
• Monitor and control the scheduling of production runs based on sales orders and available inventory.
• Analyze production data and implement necessary adjustments to meet the required delivery deadlines.
• Quality Assurance:
• Monitor and maintain product quality standards by inspecting fabric output for defects, ensuring it aligns with specifications.
• Address any quality-related issues immediately and provide corrective actions to operators.
• Conduct regular quality audits and assist in troubleshooting any machine or fabric issues.
• Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Oversee the regular maintenance and proper functioning of weaving machines and associated equipment.
• Ensure that machine downtime is minimized by promptly identifying and resolving issues.
• Ensure proper documentation of machine maintenance and repair logs.
• Inventory and Material Management:
• Ensure adequate stock of weaving yarns, auxiliaries, and other necessary materials are available.
• Monitor material consumption and ensure effective inventory management to avoid wastage and shortages.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain records of production reports, machine performance, and quality checks.
• Provide daily/weekly production updates and reports to senior management.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality.
• Suggest and implement process improvements and innovations in weaving techniques and equipment.

Key Requirements:

• Education:
• A diploma or degree in Textile Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in the weaving department, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role in a textile manufacturing environment, particularly home textiles.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of weaving processes, machinery, and textile products.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software for production management.
• Other Requirements:
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and safety standards in textile manufacturing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Working Conditions:

• Shift work may be required, depending on production schedules.
• The role may require standing for long periods and working with machinery.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25, ₹30,000.00 per month
